Koh Ngai Thanya Resort

We loved out stay at this beautiful resort. The beach is amazing and very peaceful. The staff is really friendly and the restaurant is excellent. We loved our bungalow with the AC and fridge. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back!

Thanya was a very good stay for us. The hotel is very well-maintained, and it probably has the best beach on the entire island right in front of it. Our room was simple yet clean, with comfortable beds. We had lunch and dinner almost every day at their restaurant, and the food was good, with a large variety of options.

This is not related to Thanya, but arriving at the hotel from the boat was tricky. There's no pier for the longtails to stop, so we had to take off our shoes and get off the boat onto the water. We got wet almost up to our waist!

The pool is very clean and there are plenty of beach chairs on the grounds. The staff is friendly and efficient. They made sure our stay was enjoyable. We ate at the restaurant several times and enjoyed the food. The room was clean and the AC kept us cool. There is good snorkeling right out in front of the resort.

The resort is located on a truly beautiful beach with plenty of shady spots right by the water, offering stunning views. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful, always doing their best to assist us.

The resort and rooms are quite outdated and, in our opinion, not worth the high price. It might have been a great place 15 years ago, but today it feels poorly maintained, and also the gardens could use a lot more care and attention. The breakfast was underwhelming, and most of the restaurant staff seemed unmotivated and not particularly friendly. We stayed towards the end of the season, and while it was clear the resort was preparing to shut down, we would have expected this to be considered in a lower price. The 4 star rating on booking did not reflect the experience we had. Overall, we were disappointed with our stay.

Very warm welcome. Everything that could done to make a nice stay was done by the reception staff.Limited choice of food at restaurants and no massage available due to the end of the season.

Excellent experience. A quiet and peaceful place in April (no idea what it looks like during other months). No shows, no big lights, but a lot of fishes, great trekking trails next to the hotel, nature. If you look for a hotel of great quality and relaxation this is it. We were a group of friends with two kids. All of us enjoyed our stay. Ideal for 3 nights.

Nice resort with great staff. Beach bar has cheapest beers on the island. Food at the restaurant is good. You can be to the other end of the beach in about a 30min walk (a handful of bars/restaurants along the way) and in 20-30 min you can walk up over the hill to paradise beach. Free breakfast was sufficient. Not much else to do in the island except chill.

The rooms seemed fairly well taken care of, but the bathrooms could use a bit of a remodeling (but weren't bad). Our ac never fully cooled the room.

Thanya is the best on the island and seeing beach at the other hotels there is no better choice than Thanya. Only here there is always a decent wide beach at high tide which is not a thing at other hotels. We also enjoyed view at own pond and the whole nature around.

Stunning location, beautiful hotel with lovely, warm, welcoming staff. Very relaxed vibe, felt like a true slice of paradise. Hotel restaurant very good, enjoyed every meal. Amazing beach massage facilities available. Have already recommended to friends!

Absolutely stunning location on Koh Ngai with fantastic snorkeling and views. The food in the restaurant was excellent and overall the staff were exceptional.

The bungalows could use a bit of a facelift - porches and lighting were a bit sketchy. Tried to arrange a special dinner on our anniversary in the restaurant but the person we spoke to told us they were too busy even to reserve a table. There were many available tables every night. This same person also tried to charge us an extra 50 TB for ice! Also tried to have a foot massage (twice) but they had run out of massage oil. Otherwise everything was fantastic.

Very helpful and friendly staff particularly at the front desk. They helped us arrange day trip and airport transfer. They also gave us advice on different things.Spacious room but bed (too hard) and pillows (too soft) were not very comfortable to me.Breakfast buffet and food at the restaurant were good but not great. Nice beach with great views (just don't expect powdery sand). You can snorkel right in front of the resort. Coral reef there is not very beautiful but you can expect to see lots of fish.

Location

The staff in the restaurant seemed like they couldn’t care less and almost annoyed to see customers. The breakfast was horribly basic and uninteresting. The bakery selection were days old and so dry that the ducks wouldn’t even eat it if offered. When confronted with this the waiter just laughed and spoke in Thai. We had to speak to the reception manager to be able to get a banana for our infant son since the restaurant staff told us they didn’t have any, when in fact they were right on the bar under a blanket. It’s a shame that the resort accepts that people reserve the sunbeds at 5.30 in the morning by placing their towels or sarongs.

Koh Ngai is an absolutely paradise-like destination, but travelers shouldn’t expect ultra-luxury resorts on the island. That said, it remains a considerably more expensive destination compared to the Thai standard. Thanya Beach Resort is arguably the best hotel on the island, located at one end of the main beach. Its laid-back yet well-equipped atmosphere offers everything needed for a truly memorable stay. Special mention goes to the always-smiling and helpful staff, as well as the excellent restaurant. We left the hotel but wished we could have stayed longer!

The beach is beautiful and the room had a stunning sea view. Must mention that the reception staff is very kind! I was sick during our stay and the lady was very thoughtful and gave ,me water, medicine, and took very good care of me. Very thankful to her!

We understand the reasons why all hotels are more expensive in Koh Ngai and Koh Kradan than other islands (the need to generate electricity, etc). However, I still found the hotel to be extremely overpriced for the experience offered: the room was run down and the breakfast was week. Everything went well with our stay, and overall this is a nice place. But I think they should elevate the facilities and experience to match their prices.

This was our favorite beach resort in Thailand. It was quiet and relaxing.

I didn’t like how people would grab the beach chaises in the morning and then hardly use them all day while claiming them as their own. It was just rude behavior by some guests.

The service was exceptional—both at the reception and in the restaurant. The location was the best on the entire island. The facilities were a bit worn out but overall comfortable and clean. It has a bit of a cute ’90s vibe—people over 40 with families, no loud music, and no influencers. Just perfect.The restaurant food was quite good, even better than what we had at a 5-star resort. I do wish there were more non-alcoholic iced drinks available.The massage was a big surprise—I’ve been to many masseurs before, but this place has an amazing lady named Pin, who has a medical background and managed to fix my long-term shoulder problem.Very happy with the quiet atmosphere and the no-smoking policy in the facilities and restaurant.Beach and views were amazing.

The location is right on the beach and quiet corner of the island.

Breakfast has limited choices with basic boring coffee. The price of food is pretty high compared to its quality and taste.
